pump the brakes!
Funny story, when we first moved to Bangor my wife and I went grocery shopping in a snow storm, Most of Bangor sits on a hill that goes down to main street and the river. So I was going to head up a hill to get back to our apartment, I noticed a bunch of cars piled up at the bottom of the street.
I took one look at my wife and said, I got this.
So we start driving up the hill, people are trying to wave me off, I just wave back and go on my way up.
We just about get to the top and we lose traction, down the hill we go backwards.
My wife is freaking out, the people at the bottom of the hill are freaking out.
I hit the brakes, swing the steering wheel and the car does a perfect 180.
I drive back down the hill to the applause and cheers of the onlookers.
my snow driving brother!
it's how my father taught me to drive, growing up outside of buffalo, being able to navigate snow storms were important, he would only take us out driving in blizzards, he figured there would be less people on the road and what's the worse we could do to the car if we hit a snowbank, I loved that pinto
