Thanks John, the coroner says she was overcome by carbon monoxide and passed before the fire spread, this brings some comfort.
I can't imagine what my Uncle is going through, he works at the hospital as a janitor and was working a double shift. He was talking to someone from the fire department at work when the call came over the radio as number 29 on their road. My Uncle commented that it was his neighbor's house, a few seconds later it came over the radio with my Uncle's house number. He rushed home but the house was totally engulfed at that point. It's a 100 year old home that was balloon framed so they had to bring in an excavator to bring the shell down before they could safely search. The fire marshall says he believes it started in the kitchen but won't be able to pinpoint what caused it.
