I just watched this movie again last night. I tried to read this book awhile ago, his writing style is hard to read, written almost like a poem. I enjoyed the movie. Not sure why they had to pay duvall and pierrce to be in the movie. Any no-name could have played those parts and saved some money.

One thing I don't understand (and maybe it's a flaw in my character). Why even bother trying to survive? It seems like it was literally end of the world. NO food (seems like ever), and no hope. I would have eaten a bullet early on.

I would bet that a lot of actors are fans of Cormac McCarthy. Those guys must've taken a paycut just to be in the film. I'm fortunate enough to have a smalltime theater near me that plays a lot of independent films and stuff that doesnt get played in the big theaters. I saw this movie there and its now one of my favorites.
