CDC is reporting there have two abortions so far due to ZIKA

At least two pregnant women in the United States infected with the Zika virus have chosen to have abortions in recent months, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, while two others have suffered miscarriages. One woman gave birth to an infant with serious birth defects, while two others delivered healthy infants. Two are still pregnant.

I saw on Fox News that there are conspiracy theories about the gov't starting this with genetically modified experiments.

....and on another note, I though this was kind of funny...not sure what she is saying, but it looks like she is ready to go to war with skeeters.

...it a new virus on the scene...and research budgets are always tight...and researchers are normally already working on other things...takes time to shift resources...plus, it's not like it was and issue for the 1st world nations...not being negative, but I think that's the way it goes.

Very true, energy/resources and dollars.  Things like this are a big deal to many people.  With our population being over 6 billion now there a lot of human hosts for virus/bugs to take advantage of.  I have said it before, we are way over due for a Pandemic.  Stock up on antibiotics and basic medical supplies.
