I've used hoop houses quite a bit, but this looks pretty interesting...may be tough to keep out critters though.
awesome, we tried to do something like that, word of warning, make sure your water table isn't to high in the area you dig, I ended up with a shallow pool
but it did have a good ending
agreed pyro, we had been looking for a "perfect" piece of land for a long time, could never find it, we had picked up a 9 acre piece when we expanded our business, was just a flat field with a swampy wooded area out back, I said to my wife, you know, we could make that into what we want, and that's what we've been doing none stop for the last 5-6 years, someday it will finished hopefully lol

You can still do lots with a small amount of room. If you check out the book "Grow Great Grub In Small Spaces" the author puts out a TON if ideas on how you can maximize production with just a little bit of room. The things people are doing on apartment balconies just blow me away sometimes.
