So funny, I actually just did some work on one of these today. I'll post some pics when I get done. I'm building on a hill tho, so I had to do some serious work-arounds to deal with the grade, but it'll fit into my landscaping project I'm doing this summer. So far it looks pretty good!

i have a large cinder block garden behind the house for kitchen veggies. we put down the blocks and over-filled the space with green and brown leaves and then for a month or so we would throw kitchen veggie scraps in so the rabbits would sit there and eat the scraps and fill it up with poop.
depending upon your own climate, you may want to paint the bricks to hold heat. if you paint them black you'll get lots of heat, i have to paint ours white to keep the heat to a minimum.
