Same here in Idaho. December and I realize I am wearing a coat for no reason. Feels like early March, and it is messing with my emotions.

I am. I just got the new seed savers catalog and I'm already thinking about what I'm going to do to expand on the successes of my first year of gardening.

I'm also in the process of renovating the whole thing so I hope we carry this mild weather a bit until I'm finished.

I'm going from a bunch of random sized, randomly spaced raised beds to a series of 4x4 beds set up in a south facing U shape. I'm also burying a bunch of dead and rotting wood(from some old downed trees)under the beds to create a sort of permaculture "Hugelbed".

I'm always thinking about my garden, this years next years.

Danger has big plans, and I really like his ideas a lot. This years gardens weren't a great success for a number of reasons, and we want to do a lot more next year.

Our goal is to grow enough to eat, can, and begin selling to local restaurants.

We also want to get our infrastructure set up to have a four season harvest. We have some cloth and plastic over some beds and they are doing well, but it is only the really hardy greens that are holding up.

Next year's garden? I still got stuff in this years garden!

Seriously tho I got some small heads forming (in December I might add) on my broccoli, the cabbage is coming along nicely and the beets are probably ready to pull. The carrots have been doing well. They are really sweet for carrots and getting to be a good size. Turnips are going strong and my chard is still alive (barely)

So I finally got a chance to get out there and take some pics.

The beets seem to be doing ok. The greens don't look all that nice but the ground has not been frozen at all so the tubers should still be doing well. I'm probably going to pull these later on today and pickle them.

The carrots are doing fine! We had some the other night and as I said, they have a very sweet flavor for carrots.

Next year I'm going to plant a lot more of these.
