I wanted to add some extra stability, so the poles closest to the edge I secured to the nails for the grid line with some zip ties.

Then I ran some clothesline through the eyelets on my support poles. I started at one end with a simple granny knot...

Then to make sure I wouldn't lose any tension I passed the line through each eyelet and doubled it back through again making sure the line remained tight.

I finished it off with a half hitch at the end of the line.

Finally I draped 2 layers over the spine, an inner layer of garden cloth and an outer layer of clear plastic. I secured the far side in this pic to the side of the beds with a piece of wood and some nails. The other side is just weighed down to allow access to the garden. I plan on making an enclosure for the open end sometime today if I can get around to it.

Lets keep the greens going. Hopefully we will have the winter greens continuing till the spinach comes up. We will be planting spinach tomorrow!

I spent part of yesterday closing off the open end of the "greenhouse". It has been working really well so far, probably 15 degrees warmer in there than outside. I also pulled the beets and carrots, and planted the bed with spinach and garlic. They should be ready to start eating about March. I pickled the beets, which I'll do a thread on in a little bit here. All in all the garden is looking pretty good. I need to get in there and do some weeding here soon, but for the most part it's doing really well. Looking forward to the spring so I can plant a bunch of other stuff!
