I actually live just outside NYC in a town called West New York NJ, aka "El Barrio". I am not latino, but love salsa! lol

We live in a building built back in the 1970's, so the apartments are spacious and have larger terraces. It is actually 26'6" x 5'. my only downside is I get somewhere between partial and full sun, but almost everything on my list grew well last year.

We just made a list of the seeds we have and what we need to order. I'll begin starting some next week. I'm also going to focus on developing the wild edibles and some perennial things that I can bring inside for the winter. I have a few interesting things going on which I'll share at a later time

Surely you jest!
I'm hoping to grow the same kinds of things I always do, just more of them so I can put more up.
I are fairly well from the food I put up last season.

Building more garden beds closer to the house. Arthritis is kickin my butt so we're trying to get most things into raised beds. We will still plant some things the traditional way...potatoes, maybe some corn and green beans in raised beds and in normal rows. I really need a good year for green beans, the last 2 years have barely covered needs.

Making one special bed just for sweet potatoes. Last year I filled a tire with mostly silty sand from the creek and put a few slips in it as an experiment. The rest we planted in regular rows. What came out of that sand was nice! So the new bed is full of that sand and we will see if we can repeat last years growth.

Having real fun getting dirt to the beds, the tractor is too big to get all the way to the beds so he dumps it in a pile as close as possible and Ethan has been shoveling into the wheelbarrow and into the beds. Its taking 20 wheelbarrow loads per bed more or less so he gets a work out! Planting peas in one of them tomorrow if the sign is right in the almanac. I think it is anyway. I missed the days to get root crops in this past week, too much snow and cold. Might have a few pics later in the week.
