Nice little vid about growing on a small city plot, one thing she mentions is using a roto tiller versus the double dug method. I had first heard this years ago when reading Gardening When it Counts, by Steve Solomon. When using a roto tiller, the tines rotate at a high speed and dig up that first 8 inches of soil or so, but they are also creating a compacted layer of soil on the bottom of where the tines hit that makes it hard for roots to get through, something to think about

I see her point about using a tiller but thats why most folks I know plow their garden before tilling it. It looked like there was plenty of room to get a tractor on her lot. It would save a lot of forking work. Our garden gets plowed 1 to 2 feet deep before we till the top 8 to 10 inches for planting.
Unless she has no access to a tractor. In that case......please disregard my comment.
