I find the price of fast food ridiculous. I had a burger the other day while I was at home depot picking up soldering supplies and it was over $5. For $5 I could have eaten like a king at home. Thankfully I don't do that often.
I was telling the guys at work what our weekly grocery spend was and they could not believe how low it was. They were eating pretty much every meal out and spending in two days what I spend in a week, and I eat really well at home.
In an age of plentiful information there are very few legitimate reasons why people are not eating healthy home cooked meals way more than we are now.

I'm a fast food addict. I used to make the argument that fast food wasn't much (if any) more expensive than eating at home. Afterall, a value meal was only 3.99 (although "real" food was probably a LOT cheaper than too). Now when I go to McD and spend over $7 for a value meal, it's getting to be a hard argument to make.

It isn't just the monetary cost but the health cost as well
