This thread re-energizes me into getting the garden back in shape. This year was a near complete wash for me. Squash borers took out all my squash plants, excessive rain did a number on most of my other plants, and of all things, squirrels destroyed my tomato plants... I still have my okra that is going strong, but other than that and a few patches of carrots and a couple of eggplants, I didn't produce nearly as much as I expected... Oh well, there's always next year.

same here. I'm finally getting to can some tomatoes thanks to a friend having an over abundance. It looks like I will get about 12 qts and a few qts of sauce. Some beans are finally coming in.

The mushrooms however have been awesome! Tonight we will be having chicken of the woods, and I will put another quart of chantrelles in the freezer.

well how did it go for you guys? I failed my goals, but I don't consider the year a total loss, we raised about 500 pounds of pork, 140 pounds of chickens, 120 pounds of turkey, 20 pounds of cherries, 40 pounds of strawberries, 30 pounds of blackberries and a couple bushels of apples.

Now if my wife would just let me shoot the ducks :(

I'm a bit disappointed too.

I'm impressed! We didn't raise any meat this year.

Enough eggs for eating and selling a few dozen each week.

About 60 of canned food, beans, corn, tomatoes and sauce, apple sauce, chantrelles, chicken of the woods

I shared some of it with my sister.

Two gallons of frozen strawberries,

A gallon of blueberries,

A gallon of blackberries.

Ten or so quarts of frozen mushrooms

Some peppers

Chard and leeks are still producing

Potatoes, but I don't know how many.

Better than last year!
