Ugh, we had a hard frost Saturday night and I lost my tomato and pepper plants. The forecast was for a low of 33, but it got down to 23. Even in the greenhouse, they didnt make it. I'm trying to recover the tomatoes, but the peppers are done. Ive heard that if you prune the dead leaves, you have a 50% chance of new growth if the stems are still OK. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I restarted some seeds, but I may have to buy some plants. Gonna play it by ear and see what happens. Fortunately, all the greens are OK.

We have roma and old yellow tomato's about three inches tall, green and banana peppers, cabbage, garlic, cucumbers and an assortment of cooking and medicinal herbs. Most are sprouting. We had a cold snap but we put a space heater in the greenhouse and everything made out good. We have kale, peas and taters in the ground. Hopefully, by the middle of next month we'll have the beans and everything else planted in the ground. I love this time of year.
One of our chickens got injured pretty bad. I thought at first that she was just the low hen and getting pecked on, but upon looking at her she has a big wound on her side above the wing. I'll keep her confined for a few days and tend it.
We are getting enough eggs now to sell a few!
I transplanted some onions, and greens this week.
Tonight we had a nice big pot of steamed mixed greens. This has been a perfect spring for spinach. Some of the leaves are bigger than my hand!
