Interesting. I have piled up a nice collection of empty sand bags over the last few years. Maybe those would work if I cut em up?

Not sure, the nice thing about using paper towels or napkins is that they will break down and degrade, the sand bog won't for a very long time. But it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
