I tried last year with limited success, I really want to get away from using bulbs, hopefully some of these tips will help

Good article. I had success one year growing them from seed. I started the really early. We might try it this year.

I had some come up from the seeds, very tiny, so i left them in the beds to overwinter and excited to see if they produce anything this year

I tried to grow onions this year, but they didn't turn out. I think they got choked out by the tomatos (and other things). Once I cleared the garden of everything else, some have started to make a comeback. The bulbs just never seemed to grow though.

I did find it interesting that it said to brush the dirt away as it grows so the bulb sits on the soil, I have never heard that before
