anyone heard of this?

paint rocks and set them in your patch before the strawberries fruit, birds will try attacking the rocks and be discouraged when fruit actually appears

Huh, that's a novel idea. Not sure if we have that problem but if we do it may be something to try out.

I saw that too, on Pinterest. Never tried it yet... You can buy that bird netting but its expensive. I saw where one lady went to Goodwill and bought all the sheer white curtains they had, sewed them together and draped over stakes. She claimed it worked well.

Seems like it would work somewhat but you would probably be better off with a netting.
