dude...i'm convinced that when it rains it pours.
a used import pick up is more useful than a pocket for what you're about to undertake. good mileage and low maintenance.
can increase its load capacity cheaply with something like this:

We closed!!!! We cut the check, picked up the keys, and turned the power/water/gas on in our new homestead. I'm a homeowner. Congratulations to me.
It got real soon after. We figured we need to take care of the chickens so we got a bag of feed and went over there to meet 6 hens staring at us like, "who the hell are you?" We noticed they didn't have any water and its Texas summer so I assumed they must need some water. I found an empty bin and put some water in it. I went to slide it under their coop and sure enough, one of the little suckers got out. My fiance and I were in full on lawyer clothes and its about 100 degrees out. We proceeded to chase that thing around for about a half hour, all the while, ben e. hill music was playing in my head. Trying to catch her in my loafers wasn't working so I finally decided to lure her back in by putting in some feed in the coop. All the other hens were pecking away and so I lifted the coop and the hen went in, and two more went out the other side. Cue ben e. hill for another half hour of chasing until the same gambit got the other two into the coop. We then went to a fancy Dallas sushi place to celebrate our new house while smelling like BO and chicken shit.
It was like green acres over there. Hopefully the hens and I understand each other a little better on day two.
