so for todays meal, we decided to make chili without the legumes, so I grabbed some supplies

11950883665_d6fa6658b7_c.jpg

I had some ground beef from Rinkus's farm in the freezer yet, so I threw that in a pan

11950893325_52b29fe84f_c.jpg

the carrots were from a local farm

11951342294_4ca69a8d10_c.jpg

so I chopped them up and threw them in the crockpot

I peeled and halved the butternut squash

and chopped that up and threw it in the crockpot

I chopped up the green pepper and red pepper and threw that into the crock pot

colorful, isn't it

11951220783_3fd8f97c7d_c.jpg

so I grabbed the garlic

11951768616_7128eee455_c.jpg

to peel, break off a clove

11951773796_a3238f0657_c.jpg

lay your knife blade flat across it and snack it, tilt the blade down a little so you don't cut yourself

11951235523_9ab3822679_c.jpg

it crushes it and the garlic pops right out

11951790566_ca1cc4f896_c.jpg

so I chopped that up and threw it into the crockpot

11950962955_4df3f934f7_c.jpg

dumped in some chili powder

11950969345_5daa6bb4c3_c.jpg

and poured two 8 oz cans of tomato sauce and a large can of crushed tomatoes over it

11951806956_c999c50d71_c.jpg

the beef was done

11950978415_130a6b2a9b_c.jpg

so I threw that on top with some more chili powder

11951276323_b6477c2791_c.jpg

and stirred it up and set on high for 6 hours, now we wait

it was damn good, wife and I both agreed it would make a great spaghetti sauce as well, so I'm going to make a big pot this weekend and can it

nice, thinking I'm gonna use the same base for a beef stew tomorrow, replace the burger with steak tips, tomatoes and sauce with coconut milk and beef broth, will report back
