Well it was suppose to be Lasagna, most paleo people say no dairy, some say it's fine as long as you are not lactose intolerant, but one meal a week isn't going to kill me

So I chopped up a couple cups of onions 134 calories

and 4 carrots 118 calories

4 cups of green peppers 119 calories

12297463333_8e0ce60332.jpg

the only whole mozzarella they had was a block

12297721814_616506e766.jpg

so I grated it up 1400 calories

and cooked up 2 pounds of ground beef 1417 calories

and just started layering it all

I covered it with a jar of sauce and sprinkled with garlic powder 420 calories

12296934245_354b586da5.jpg

and repeated the layers till the pan was full

12297502486_2d2a4e934b.jpg

I stuck it in the oven at 400 for 1 hour and 30 minutes

man it was good, I had 2 big bowls

12297082923_600d5f3d13.jpg

total calories for the pan is 3668, so even eating 1/3rd the pan is only 1220 calories, which is basically all I had all day, this is to easy

But no noodles!!

Yeah, I know, no grains in Paleo, I read the article. But you use spaghetti squash in another recipe. I bet you could cut lasagna like strips of the squash instead.

Would that work baked?

Can the squash be cut into strips before baking, or would you need to double bake it? Once so you can then make strips and a second time as the casserole?

a lot of people cut them into strips , they also make a slicer that creates thin slices

cooking from raw is fine, no need to do it twice, hmm I will have to try a spaghetti bake next
