Greenup might be interested in this. I did this 2-3 years ago. Sorry, I do not have any pictures after they began to grow. I had to move near that time and just never got around to it.
Just buy as many cloth, reusable shopping bags as you want, fill them with potting soil and then I recommend placing then in those plastic seed starting trays. It helped keep more moisture for the bags as it could soak it up like a sponge when needed.
I also had some hangers from the dry cleaners and used them to keep the plants upright.
Just make sure your seedlings are strong and transplant them when they are ready. Try your best to keep them near sun.
Also, ask your landlord about putting them on the roof. There wont be any mess involved, and you never know, they may be ok with it.
