Blendtec and vitamin are really theonly brands that will breakdown the veggies to resemble a normal drink

There are some cheaper blenders out there that are supposed to be able to blend veggies like a Blendtec or VitaMix. But most of them use extremely sharp blades to do this. Over time, those blades dull, and you'll have to replace them. The Blendtec and VitaMix use blunt blades, high speeds (like 200mph), and brute force to smash cell walls. Another up side to the blunt blades, is that you won't cut yourself if you have to stick you hand in the blender to clean it (something I've done many times with my old blender).

That is just so much money to spend on a blender

I hear ya. They're not for everyone. If you wouldn't be using it every day, I probably wouldn't recommend dropping that much money on a blender. But like I said, I've been using mine literally at least once a day since December, so I feel like in my case it was definitely worth it.

Although I don't use it daily I do use it at least 4 days a week. Really hard to justify buying a $400 blender, but I'm glad I did.

I just picked up the omega vrt350 today. I was using a cheap ge from walmart. This thing is nice and quiet and my juice yield is a bit higher.
