Superfoods can be a marketing gimmick. Although if you are going to take the time to grow something might as well grow things that is packed full of what you need to survive.

http://en.wikipedia....../Superfood

I was thinking about this a bit this morning and thought I might as well make a post for it. Get some insight back from you all.

Moringa : http://en.wikipedia......ki/Moringa

Crazy amount of good things can be done with this besides the nutrients values which are sky high.

Chocho : http://en.wikipedia......iki/Chocho

Claims are that it is packed with the good proteins. Here is a short video from the BBC from yesterday about it.

Quinoa : http://en.wikipedia......iki/Quinoa

A rather needy one for growing requirements but another one packed full of life sustaining properties.

Any other superfoods or grains that anyone is aware of? The above 3 are from my neck of the woods.

i was pondering this too. at booster juice place they hype wheatgrass as a superfood, plus ive been hearing alot about dandelions too oddly enough. im not sure what the science is behind it but those who buy into make some pretty spectacular claims. im thinking dandelion wine might be in order.

Moringa is the only one I know of (founded in science) which is truly a superfood. From the nutrients, biofuel, even as a water filter the stuff is truly amazing.

soft fruits are about the closest you can get to a superfood. they are easy to raise-remember they're weeds in the woods. you can't beat strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, currants, blueberries and goji.
