Sorry but it is the most difficult thing to make. Tell the spouse that it is an all day chore and that they should leave without you.
Go to the store and get a couple of cans of chunked pineapples.
Open them up and pour the juice into a glass ( very important).
Place the chunks on the dehydrator trays and arrange so they are not touching.
Turn on dehydrator to low heat, I use 120 degrees.
Now go watch tv and drink your juice.
After 5 hours in the dehydrator start taste testing. You want them chewy but not stringy. It takes 9 hours in my dehydrator.
When they are chewy to your satisfaction, let them cool.
You now have what I call pineapple chews.
They last about six weeks in the fridge, two in a bag on the counter. Never vacuum packed any cause they don't stay around very long.
