This is all for my current place.
Relocation plans are on hold for the time being.
I want to get some swales built. Not sure of the cost to get an operator and equipment for a day. I might also try to hand dig if it's not cost effective. I would have to get the plantings sent over after the earthworks are put in and I probably wont to that until the spring.

OK, so yeah it's been a while since I've completed the course. I have to say that I dont regret anything about it at all. Im still putting together a plan to turn this into more than just a hobby and Im still learning as much as I can about permaculture. The more I learn, them more things from the course begin to click.
Here's what I can tell you about the couse that I've recently found out...I was listening to Paul Wheaton's podcast (I dont usually, but I saw he had Geoff on) and Geoff said he had a lot of people that didnt finish on time. They were asking if they could take the next course , maybe at a discount since they didnt complete the first one. He told them just to finish the one they were on. There was no need to start from the beginning. It was six months later and he was still allowing students to finish up and certifying them because he understood that life happens and things come up. I thought that was a great way to do it. Then he said that anyone who took and passed the course and got their certification had a free pass to every other online PDC he would offer. We can watch the videos and participate in discussions, but couldnt ask questions...we could only answer them! I thought that was pretty cool, too.
I will admit that the only way I found out about this is through the podcast I just happened to listen to. I havent received many emails except to announce his free videos. Not a bad thing. There havent been any subsequent requests to take more courses or buy more stuff.
All in all, I got everything I hoped out of the course. I've been passing on what I have learned to just about anyone that will listen and Im slowly getting my property designed and set up the way I want it to be. Hopefully some of this stuff will turn out OK and look good in a portfolio. Fingers crossed!
