That's a lot of good time. I used mine yesterday to haul, lift, and push a huge log into my boiler. It actually went very smoothly and that log is still burning a day later.

K, I was going some searching and found that people were recommending buying hale bales in the 4x4 size. They weigh less than hay rounds but could get you a better deal.

Haha, that's a good problem to have!

To clarify, people are saying to buy smaller round bales (~800lbs) and use a 3 point spear -- which is what you were asking about. A full large round bale can weigh up to 1500lbs which is just too much.

Per the thread below, this guy was saying a cow needs 27lbs of dry matter a day, so one square bale per day can feed 2 cows. Is that what you are seeing with your Dexters? This guy was also recommending a bale feeder to limit waste. Seems like good info.

we go through about a half a bale, but we also supplement them with grain and corn.

didn't get as much time on it as I wanted yesterday but I was a good neighbor and cleared out the neighbors driveways, my wife just shook her head at me
