you could also line the edge of your raised beds with pennies, it will repel the slugs

allright, sorry for the lack of updates.

My garden is HUGE! Spaghetti squash and wild cherry tomatoes are enormous.

I went away to Puerto Rico on vacation and did a big harvest when i came back (see picture)

I posted the pic on twitter tagging the mayor of my district saying "only missing the protein. When chickens will be allowed in #Rosemont?"

He replied saying they are working on it, that they already gave permission to a community center to have some for "educational purposes".

yeah, he's one of those new "cool"/close to people politicians so he's pretty active on twitter so i knew the message would get to him directly, plus other people would see it.

My garden was pretty disappointing this year. There was so much rain all the time that not only did things rot, but we couldn't get out to care for them. The potatoes never flowered but I do expect to get some. Lots of bug problems. The Swiss chard did really well, and it looks like we will have leeks for the fall and early winter. The beans surprised me with a nice little late harvest through the weeds!

I did however do a bit of canning, which I had been unable to do at all for the last two years.

I hope to be able to gather acorns and chestnuts when I get back.

I'm already starting to plan for next year!
