Whenever I see something on sale that is a dry good that we use a lot, I'll purchase some extra and use my spare canning jars to store it in. Here's how I do, I will use wheat berries for this example

I have a cheap funnel to help fill the jars with

And some o2 absorbers, this is a little overkill but I don't want no worries

I have a foodsaver with the canning jar attachment, I love that thing

I fill the jars with whatever dry good I am using and pop in a o2 absorber

It's not in the instructions but I double up the lids before I set the jar attachment on the jars, I find I get a better and quicker seal

It's a pretty quick and painless process. Literally 5 minutes and they are already for the pantry!

You want to use this process only for dry goods. I have a issue with the picture of the canning jar attachment that is all over the internet. It shows green beans in liquid being vacume sealed, don’t do tha t and stick with dry products only.

Here are the two different sizes available, have fun and good luck!

you can, just be careful unsealing them, there is quite a suction, I have used lids that I have already processed in my canner. Nice thing is a quart of rice is almost the perfect size for recipes for families of four
