how did it work for you?

I did a test a couple years ago and the results were pretty underwhelming, thinking about giving it another shot this year.

I've done 4x15 of one bed this way.  I do it just because my kids think it's cool to grow food like the Native Americans did.  I was also underwhelmed by the results.  I didn't bury fish carcasses under my corn, and didnt' grow on mounds like the NAs did, so maybe that's one factor.

I planted a multi colored popping corn, pumpkins, and purple runner beans. I hate growing corn, I think I can use the space more efficiently to grow other things, and it's so hard on the soil. Sweet corn is so cheap here in Michigan that it just doesn't make sense to grow it if I don't have to, and my kids think it's cool to pop corn they grew.  My pumpkin vines definitely didn't do as well as others planted elsewhere.

My kids saw me looking at a seed catalog the other day and they're already asking to plant a 3 sisters bed. Cry

yeah that's been pretty much my results. At least the kids are excited for a garden though.
