Nice thread and excellent photography! Are your chanterelles up yet? We found them right by the house this year already! Last year I threw all the rinse water the mushrooms were in up under a big oak tree. This year there are chanterelles there I'm wondering if they were there all the time and we didn't see them... Or did my spores take ahold in one years time? I have no idea, just glad they grow there.
From what I'm told, there is a seeding technique where you soak a few mushrooms in water for a day or two then dump it where you want them to grow. In all likelihood your rinse water is the reason for your new patch. Congratulations! You're now a mushroom farmer!

Rather than just doing a medicinal thread, I thought I would just do one for the wild things I gather both for food and medicine.
Ramps.
Technically they are a wild leek. I start craving them in February and they are like a spring tonic for me.
I don't have a large patch on my place yet, so I have been buying them and planting half of what I buy.
In a few years ill not have to buy them any more.
They are nice sautéed, and added to roasts. I love them raw. They have a slightly spicy garlicky taste.

Mullein.
This is an excellent plant for chest colds, bronchitis, coughs and asthma. It is generally good for mucous membranes. The flowers soaked in oil makes a soothing ear ache remedy.
