So my Dad called me the other day and told me he found a 30 acre farm for sale about 20 minutes from where I work. It's about 23 acres of farmland and 7 acres of woods; has several decent new barns on the property (1 with a 20 stall horse barn). Asked me if I'd be interested in going in on it with him... Tempting.

Yup, the Mrs. and I are in if he goes through with it. It's has 1 house (pretty rough) on the property, 6 outbuildings/barns/polebarns, and several fenced paddocks. It's bank-owned and they are asking just shy of $200k for it. We shall see.

Update: we ended up backing away from this one... Turns out there are 2 acres of lowland at the back of the property and thus, the entire 30 acres is classified as flood property; the insurance was going to be nuts!
Oh well... We keep looking.
