Rob Roy talked about the Maasai layout in one of his books, small outer buildings to house the Maasai's multiple wives and children, he said his wife probably wouldn't go for it though lol

that hedge is EPIC!

 

reminds me of my great uncle's root fence around his fields. kind of like this...

 

i used to love climbing on it and  hunting the small game living in it.

 

one of my favorite chapters of john seymour's "self-sufficient life" is the chapter about hedge laying.  i'm fascinated by the whole ecosystem/permaculture concept of a living hedge.
