No. It's weird -- the black water is directly behind my septic tank by about 20 feet and is higher than some of the other ground around it. So it doesn't look like the ground is saturated.

I am second guessing the septic install by my guy -- I don't know how big of a drainfield he put in or anything.

It's the dark hole with branches over it at the foreground of this picture.

Haha, more specifically, Pork's wife.

We just had a septic issue arise here yesterday -- we have a higher water table and I notice a small pool of blackwater our by our septic tank!?!?!!? I left a call for my septic guy, which has yet to be returned. Ugh, maybe the composting toilet was better?

Our guy, Dave Smith has a toilet that uses two 55 gallon drums, Plastic. He has a toilet seat and a cover. After 2 years he switches the seat and cover. At 4 years he switches again and empties the dry powder out of number one barrel. It is sanitary and can be dumped anywhere. I like it

We just have an out house right now. I have seen some very nice homemade composting toilets and would love to build one this summer

Believe me -- if my wife didn't mandate the flushing toilet with septic system we would be rocking an outhouse right now. Why go to the bathroom in the house? Our offgrid set up would be much easier with an outhouse and we would have saved tons of money.

It is what it is so I've got to get this fixed. My septic guy did not call me back today -- I'm not happy about that. We'll see if I can get in touch with him tomorrow.
