(WXYZ) - A Detroit couple claims their farm animals were "kidnapped" by animal control officers.
Their story is ruffling some feathers, and Monday brought new developments, including a possible reunion.
The city issued this statement late Monday:
"Investigators of the Animal Control Unit are often times tasked with very difficult and sometimes dangerous situations and are to be commended for the work they do to ensure the safety of animals. Although the law is clear that no livestock animals shall be kept or raised on residential property within the city limits, The Detroit Police Department has offered the Brown family, as a means of peaceful closure, a unique opportunity to visit with the animals who will then be taken to a yet-to-be agreed upon location outside the city where they can stay. Details of this arrangement have not yet been completed."
