For those who missed it when it first aired on PBS. 4 Families agree to live for half a year as they did in the late 1800's

It's frontier boot camp. Everyone learns how to do the things they will be doing at Frontier Valley. Such as how to bake bread, see if the oven is hot, wash dishes, chop wood and kill a chicken. Also everyone learned how to shoot, even though they won't be allowed to hunt due to todays laws. At the end they leave to make the journey to Frontier Valley where they will be living, farming, working, learning, and having fun for the next five months.

Also, I grew up not far from where that was filmed. It'll probably make me homesick.

Really? Do you know if any of those structures are still there?

We got the DVDs from Netflix a few years ago. Truly awesome series. I think it was the best ____ House series they made. It was sad to see them return to their normal lives and see people struggle. It really seems like the kids all flourished there.

Sad about the divorces, etc. This show was actually a driving factor, for me at least, to simplify. Our kids thrive on the simple stuff and I think the kids on the show did as well.
