My grandmother passed away last week and I just got back last night from our hometown. The destruction these companies are causing is sickening. My sister in law was telling me of a friend of hers who raises goats and she has a gas well on their property. She lost twelve goats in a week. The gas company came in and tested the water and said it was fine, she wasn't happy with their canned response so she sent some water out of state and it came back with fracking fluid and brine in it. The place is never going to be the same.

On a national fly fishing board I'm a member of, this is a pretty big issue. I've read several reports of smaller trout streams that have been damaged pretty severely due to fracking. Seems like Trout Unlimited may have gotten involved in the issue in Pennsylvania if I'm remembering it right.
