we had about of a inch of snow on the roof, then a lite icing then several inches of snow, then this last ice storm, they are calling for more snow over the next couple and want to get the roof cleaned, the roof rake is not cutting it and there's no chance in hell I'm getting up on a icy metal roof
I grabbed some roof melt and threw that up there, will report back

I need to look at those cables in the spring
on to plan B
so my dad and I were looking at the bucket the roof melt came in, it's just calcium chloride, I can get 50 pound bags at the feed store, so we started brain storming how to get it up there in a safe manner
So 30 minutes later and my dignity gone, I hit up the feed store and rite aid for 10 pairs of panty hose
and proceeded to fill the panty hose, look at the yams on them!
and proceeded to throw them up on the roof
this is gonna work! will report back later

yeah i was curious what is the difference between that roof stuff and normal de-icing salt. Just that its tablets, easier to throw?
