I have an 1995 Landrover Discovery, I bought this thing used from a crappy dealership years ago. It was our daily driver for quite a few years. In 05 gas prices jacked up and we bought a small new car. This truck even sat parked for 2 years in the backyard. She runs great except for crappy gas mileage. I think the paint job on it was a cheap 600 Maaco paint job when we bought it but it was shiny.
So for your entertainment and mine I'm gonna Camo paint this thing and take a few pics along the way.
I'm still deciding what pattern to use. I know I will not be going the hunter way with leaf stencils and what not. I will be doing this in military fashion. Right now I'm leaning towards a smaller woodland pattern similar to size you see on clothes. I love the large woodland pattern, but I think that might be harder to paint the larger blobs and have the paint look good.
Digital is also an option. I have been looking for stencils for both.
Even considering the vietnam era tiger striping.

Well still have not started the camo job. Bought some paint, just scared and still not sure if i tape the pattern or use stencil.
I did spent the last 2 days working on it. I did a complete brake tear down and rebuild with new rotors, pads, seals. pulled axles and drained gear oil and refilled with lucas. Added a 2" lift kit (2" spacers under the coil springs). I only have the rear done so far. Gonna buy new shocks next. On the rear, the shocks are not in the springs. They are on the front tho.
A word of advice to anyone who wants it.
Having the correct tools to complete a job will save you tons of time and labor.
My example: My jacks were 2 small for SUV. I used 3 two ton jacks and stands on blocks and 6x6's (not exactly the safest) The truck is meant to be lifted by its axles. Well i was working on the axles!. Also if you ever need to compress your coil springs. Go rent or buy the strut tool to do so and save the headaches. My stubborn ass spent half the day trying to make one out of unistrut and threaded rods. After hours and nearly a broken hand, I bought the tool for 35 bucks!
Any tips on painting or taping are welcome
