Does anyone here have any idea as to how much water you use on yourself, your home and property annually? Here in CO there are a lot of limitations on water use. I am slightly concerned with my new parcel that only allows me .5foot/acre of water from my well annually. I believe that equates to about 163k gallons. For a place that doesn get much rain that seems like it may impact my ability to use my land to its maximum. even for domestic use only.
The most I have ever used at my current home is 10k gallons in a month. To water 2000 sq feet of lawn, 300 sq feet food gardens and 200 sq feet flower garden and household use....

Thats part of the weird laws around here. You dont own the water on your property. So I cant just dig a pond and let it fill. I would need to buy water rights from someone in the aquifer. Although I would consider building a lined pond and pumping it full for me to draw from. Or buying a 10,000 gallon tank or something to irrigate an orchard/garden with. Some areas you also are not allowed to collect rain water. I am not sure of the rules outside city limit vs in.
