~52 miles. I have a local excavator buddy with a big trailer but I would need to pay premium for his truck. ~100 mile round trip at 5 MPG is $70+ in gas. Small price to pay if I can get it done safely and easily.

So I got a cash offer for the tractor-- they pick up. Think I am going to go with it. Now to search for something new, leaning towards an ATV.

Plowing is tough on the frame of a Jeep. They arent really heavy duty imo. If its just light plowing in your own driveway though then i wouldnt be too concerned about it. Jeeps are great but the only ones that I've heard are prone to some problems are the YJ's. That mileage sounds low, is that original mileage or is that on a rebuilt engine?

100% AVOID a YJ. They are most prone to expensive engine problems because they have a ton of aluminimum engine parts & plastic gears. Those were dark yearz for Jeep. If anyone says they have had good luck with their YJ they are lying, never took off the pavement or up a hill, or just plain got lucky.

KVR made fun of me, but I have a craftsman yard tractor with a plow and that little thing kicks some major ass! I have chains and wheel weights on it and an adjustable plow. I can do both of my drives and the 1/4 mile down to where the county plows no problem, and I don't really have anything flat so I'm going up or down hill. I can plow uphill with it. I have a trailer for it I use in the summer to haul stuff around the property & firewood with in the summer. Got the tractor for free with very few hours on it. Blade for $100 from a buddies grandad, and scored the wheel wts & chains off of craigslist.

At 6'4", I do look like a shriner driving it, but it gets the job done w/o any problem.

I want an ATV for the summer duties listed and other raging purposes, but I will probably keep plowing with that little tractor til it dies! I have heard from alot of guys that plowing is really hard on the front ends of ATVs and I'd rather wreck the front of a free craftsman then a spendy ATV.

Thanks for the advice. Your ability to plow with the lawn tractor gives me hope I can plow well with an ATV.

KVR -- is your ATV manual, partially manual, or auto? A lot of the basic Honda 4x4's I am seeing are manual and I've never driven a motorcycle or anything to know how hard it is. Any tips/advice?
