I'm not sure what kind of life expectancy a yurt has. I think the plan would be to use it now as it stands, probably add some bigger panels and an outbuilding, but eventually build a bigger, sturdier home.

They are surprisingly stout! I have spent some time in a few- Rented as ski in-ski out camps for backcountry skiing in colorado & idaho. When I ski patrolled at Cuchara there was a bar made out of a GIANT yurt that was a blast to party at, there was a special deck off the back to piss of of, lol.

The space below the deck can be framed in for storage too (but that one looks kind of low ?).

I'd guess that as long as you stay on top of the little things you'd get at least 10 years out of one, if danger doesn't burn it down. And its definately a potential for income, like I said I'v rented them several times for between $75 & $150 a night depending on size.

You should buy it!

Oh and for the record, I don't burn yurts, I disassemble and re-purpose them :D
