funny because we are into summer now although it doesn't officially start for 3 more weeks. if i don't get too lazy today we are going to plant a small patch of sweet corn, beans and connecticut field pumpkins while i wait for the ufc to get uploaded. it will probably be 34-35 degrees here today, round about 100 degrees F. it's only 9:30 in the morning and i've already worked up a good sweat carrying ash out of the firepit. snow would be refreshing right about now, i'll have to substitute an ice cold beer.

sweet corn grows like weeds here. with my prepped soil i can go from seed to 6ft high in 5 weeks or less. thai's love sweet corn, they even have motor bike carts that drive around selling only corn on the cob. i could get 2-3 growing seasons here no sweat if i didn't have to worry about occasional 30+mph winds that come in off the beach and knock everything flat.
