I'm thinking of just having several pens built out of chain link to house different birds.  Any upsides or downsides to this?  I don't have the time to really build the pens and I think chain link is very strong and cost effective.  I will wrap it in chicken wire at the bottom.  Just looking for some feedback on the option.

chainlink would be fine, only downside I can see is the cost, how big are you thinking?

I was gonna recommend fine tip on account of their small claws and talons, but then I realized you meant a different kind of pen.Laugh

thank you, thank you!  I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Not sure yet on size, I just don't have a lot of time, I am finding that I have built my dream but still don't' get to enjoy it like I want to.  I'm getting closer though.  I figure I could do 4-5 connected 10x30 coops kind of like dog kennels so I can keep some turkeys and other birds.  I could have it all done in a day or two and be done with it apposed to having to buy all the supplies and it take forever for me to get around to it.

Not sure, I have the cheap bird netting over the top of my coop now and it's so flimsy it's a hassle

probably the heavier 2x3 welded wire should hold up pretty good, it's pretty cheap as well
