My daughter brought this up the other day and thought it would be a good idea for a blog post, you always see lists geared for adults, but never ones for kids, so her and I have been jotting down the books we have enjoyed the most, what was yours, am I missing any good ones?

Probably my favorite book as a child.

My Side Of The Mountain

Where The Red Fern Grows

Hatchet

The Black Pearl

Lord Of The Flies

The Education Of Little Tree

Treasure Island

Life As We Knew It

The City Of Ember

The Hunger Games

I'll have to get some of those for my son.  He's an AVID reader and actually skipped third grade this year.  He read My Side of the Mountain and every other book by Jean George.  It did take a lot of coaxing from me though.

He tried to read Hatchet, and couldn't get into it.

I don't think he's ready for Hunger Games yet (although he would probably like it).  Think the topic is not quite for a 9 year old.

My side of the mountain was one of my most favorite books. I'm passing a copy onto my grandchildren

My Side of the Mountain was a favorite of mine.  I think that's what's inspired my love of survivalishm, prepping, etc.
