Ramps are a big springtime tradition around here. I had never experienced a ramp before I got to WV. Now I really like ramps. Ramps are one of the things I look forward to every spring.

No, I really like Cilantro. I have a buddy who can't eat certain places because there's cilantro in everything though. I think it's like 2% of the population has that genetic weirdness going on. Ramps taste like burning soap (raw) because they taste like burning soap.

I really like them cooked. They are really popular in fried potatoes around here. I personally like wrapping them around a chicken breast, then wrapping that in bacon and grilling. The cooked ramps add an oniony, mushroomy kind of flavor to the meat. I've seen people dry them out and sprinkle on stuff as a seasoning as well.

Maybe you have different ramps than us, or something...
