That is one ugly 30.30.
Are you going to machine it yourself? A guy I know has a 22-250 with a silencer on it. Its a beautiful rifle but he had to pay $1500 to get the silencer machined. Does it have to be wood? What about a used Mosin? You could clean it up and sand down the stock and make it shine. It has iron sights and if a 30.30 can be silenced, I would imagine a Mosin could be too.

No, not going to machine the suppressor or thread the barrel myself. Most of those lever guns can get threaded for ~$150 or an AR barrel, or Remington 700 etc. already come threaded.
I learned that late at night is not the right time to try and convince your wife to go with the hydrographics on polymer furniture. The cost of the 300BLK handi rifle is appealing but I think I should try to swing the Remington 700 in 300BLK for ~$700. That is a lot more than I wanted to spend, however. A used Marling 336 is hard to beat at ~$275 locally, and maybe even less after hunting season, but I am unsure about the 30-30 round suppressed. My goal is to use subsonic ammo. 30-30 is uncommon but 38 special, 300BLK, and 308 are commonly suppressed subsonic calibers.

Sorry for not seeing this -- I wasn't subscribed. I have been meaning to share with you all -- just haven't gotten around to it.
So here is what I ended up with.
Dan Wesson 15-2 6" 357 -- cool thing about this revolver is you can easily change barrels from 2" up to something ridiculous like 15". I've got a 6" barrel now and am keeping my eye out for a 2.5" EWK barrel assembly so I could CC this. Grip also completely removes so you can put a tiny little CC grip on it.
$300
Rossi 92 16" 357 -- holds 8 to 9 rounds of 357/38. Sometimes you hear about QC not being good on some of these -- I got this one in from an internet dealer sight unseen and it is awesome. This thing is so easy to carry -- like holding a stick. I can wrap my hand around the balance point -- the receiver -- without a magazine or other controls getting in the way.
~$500
I also picked up this little guy -- A Savage Mark II FVSR threaded 22LR rifle. Light, handy, and takes my suppressor well.
What has impressed me the most is the versatility of the 38/357 rounds. I can use 38's for plinking and small varmints and hot 357's are touching low end 30-30 from the 16" barrel. If you stagger 38's and 357's in the levergun it is a hoot -- light recoil and low noise with 38's and a sharp kick and a massive boom, and downstream destruction, with the 357.
