I'm signed up for a build class with some legitimate military guys this summer. It's pretty sweet because for about $750, you walk away with a $2000 AR15. The problem is you have to bring your own stripped lower receiver. I don't know much about AR's so anyone with any experience who could steer me in the right direction and help me pick a quality brand would be appreciated.

ive seen some for 300+ and seen some for like 60. I'd like to keep it within the $100 range, but there's where my inexperience comes into play. Does the manufacturer or quality really matter on this part? is there even a difference between a $60 piece and a $340 one?

my understanding is that most lower blanks are made by just a couple of companies, outside of a few high end machined ones you are basically paying for the name, logos and finish. With that being said I would stay away from the low end polymers and such. For that price range you can get a rock river, spikes tactical, etc
