Can one of you do a thread on reloading? there are some members here who are very interested in starting to do it but feel intimidated by it, myself included, I have a lee 50th anniversary kit, have the dies, have the brass, have the books, just need to get primer, powder and bullets, but feel lost as far as where to start, thank-you

I'm in the same boat. Really want to start reloading, but my friends and family that reload are several hours drive from my current home. I have many questions: Do I need to get a four peice die set every time? or would one or two of the four peice sets fill in the needs that some of the 2 peice sets lack? What are the 3-4 most useful powders(handgun and rifle calibers)? Do I really need a brass tumbler, or do you utilize other methods of cleaning? I read things about military brass being a PITA, but I want to reload 7.62x54R.
You may have second thoughts about being a resource after reading that FRAT post.

You definitely want a brass tumbler. There may be other methods of cleaning may be possible, but the tumbler allows you to clean a lot of brass with little to no effort. It's basically plug and play. There are a lot of different die sets out there, the main thing to remember is make sure your die will mate with your press. I have an RCBS Rock Chucker press and a few RCBS dies, but I also have a Lyman dies as well as that fits and was the only on for that caliber in stock when I purchased it. I personally do not have any 4 die sets, my pistol dies are 3 die sets, where the seater die also functions as the crimping die once you back the seater plug out. My rifle dies are 2 dies sets, with the same feature, the seater die also crimps your brass for you.
I have a 5 day weekend here and will be doing some wood working to try and build a solid bench. If I can swing that I'll set the press up and do a full how to portion on this thread for you.
