Texas (WQOW) - A Texas car dealership will give you a gun just for buying a new car.

Customers get their choice of an AR-15 deer rifle or a handgun, but, of course, customers still need to pass a background test.

"Just a lot of things going on right now around west Texas and a lot of things going on around the U.S.," Strate Colbath, the Benny Boyd general manager, said. "We thought this promotion would pretty much set us apart and celebrate our 2nd Amendment right."

The dealership posted its best month in sales since offering the promotion.
