I would hope this goes nowhere, but you never know
House Democrats on Wednesday formally renewed their push to renew a 1990s-era assault weapons ban, introducing legislation
A growing coalition of Democrats is looking to renew the assault weapons ban that was originally signed by President Bill Clinton but expired more than a decade ago.
They blame assault weapons for rising casualties in a recent wave of mass shootings from San Bernardino, Calif., to a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs, Colo.
“Now, let’s remember that assault weapons were first designed for the battlefield by Germans during the Second World War,” said Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), who is leading congressional efforts to ban these types of guns. "The sole purpose of their existence was to kill as many people as quickly as possible during military combat."

What's funny is that the actual definition, of an "assault weapon", coming from WWII, is a rifle or submachine gun capable of semi automatic and fully automatic fire.
I keep hearing this term thrown around for shock value and some people just eat it up. I don't understand the mind set behind someone wanting to willingly give up their freedom...
But yeah K, this ain't going no where. You might have been right when you said before that maybe the Dems really are getting kickbacks from the gun industry because every time they pull this crap, gun sales spike.
yeah, but something is going to happen

First, I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this post.
So anyway, those people who think that Sandy Hook was a false flag, didn't really happen, etc., I always viewed as nutjobs. While I have very little trust in our government and those who run it, I just think that doing that, etc. is too over the top.
Well recently, when Obama was talking about how it only took one mass shooting for Australia to outlaw guns, it really made me rethink my previous position. I'm still not buying it, but now I at least entertain the notion that it was possible. I really expected more to come of that, and am astonished they weren't able to capitalize on that more.
