we had a issue last year with someone on our property at 1 a.m. A friend suggested I look into Door Jamb Armor. I suggest you do to. Besides your windows, your doors are your weakest entry point into your house. It's only 99 dollars.

Another way for doors security is to get doors that open to the outside..impossible to kick in.

opening in only the jamb has to break

outside opening , the entire framing, trim would have to come down

and the outside open bonus is you could kick it down from the inside to get out!

but what would keep someone from popping out the hinge pins and just taking the door off?

I would have to look at different hinges at lowes today when I go. I got that idea from my friends dad. He had those type doors, he was a nut about security. They make some sort of hinge with no accessible pins or something. I'm sure he would have thought of that...but then again I didn't

I like the idea of the buried set screw into the hinge pin that can only be removed with the door open
